About the event
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
One of my key projects focusses on Northern Australia's threatened finches and grasswrens. This work includes developing and implementing survey and monitoring programs to find out more about the threatened finches of the Mitchell River catchment (with Kowanyama Rangers and Northern Gulf Resource Management Group), and grasswrens throughout western Queensland and Northern Territory (with BirdLife Northern Queensland). Read more here.
Multiple field camps are planned for March to June (they will be opportunistic around river conditions etc., hence no prescribed dates yet). The project aims to train more people in finch survey techniques for application more widely in Queensland.
This project is in collaboration with NQ Natural History Group www.nqnhg.org. Please contact me to register your interest and obtain further information on 0409 806 560 or email raypierce@bigpond.com.
